BREAKING NEWS: One person is dead after a 3-vehicle crash in Rankin County on Saturday.
At approximately 7:37 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Florence-Byram Road near Flinco Farms Road for a 3-vehicle crash.
When deputies arrived, they found that one of the vehicles was submerged in a nearby pond.
The driver of that vehicle was extricated, and even after lifesaving measures were attempted, the driver was later pronounced dead.

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – One person is dead after a 3-vehicle crash in Rankin County on Saturday.
At approximately 7:37 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Florence-Byram Road near Flinco Farms Road for a 3-vehicle crash.
When deputies arrived, they found that one of the vehicles was submerged in a nearby pond.
The driver of that vehicle was extricated, and even after lifesaving measures were attempted, the driver was later pronounced dead.
The driver who tragically died has been identified as Rico Funchess of Byram.
The crash is under investigation.
